Know your Skills and Gaps
- Your Skills are a transferable part of your value proposition. Build them and take them from role to role
- The skills you need for success in your current position are defined in your Role
- Skills can either be behavioural or technical. Behavioural skills, often known as soft skills, are easily transferable from role to role
- Technical skills are discipline specific knowledge or training required for the role.
- You can check your skills for now and for the future:
- Know exactly what skills you bring to your current role and where there’s room to grow.
- Know what skills you need for a future role and create a plan to build them.
- Rate how often you demonstrate each behaviour against the Role Specific Skills or check your competency level for Technical skills
- Your skills assessment and results are shown on your Talent Profile
Select the Relevant Role
- From the Talent Profile, choose the role you’d like to check your skills against. If you don’t have a role you’ll need to create one first.
- This allows you to assess the behavioural and technical skills specific to the role
- You can rate your skills against a current role or future role to map your path forward
Rate your Behavioural Skills
- Rate how often you demonstrate each behaviour against the Role Specific Behavioural Skills you chose for the role
- Or just see how you compare across all Behavioural Skills
Rate your Technical Skills
- Rate your level of competence against the Role Specific Technical Skills you chose for the role
- You’ll see if there’s a competency gap between where you’re at and where you need to be
Reflect, Share and Take Action
- Set the visibility of your behavioural and technical skills assessments separately so you can get others’ support. They’ll get an email and be able to provide comments or feedback
- For Behavioural skills, Kendo identifies the specific activities you need to do more of to build each skill
- Kendo recommends where there’s a gap and when to set a growth goal.
- Set some Growth Goals for any skills you see as a priority growth area for you
- Growth Goals appear on your Growth Plan where you can track your development progress for each skill
- Discuss your skills with your manager and get feedback as you progress
- It’s you a great starting point for a conversation about the skills you need for success
