Enhance Your
Board’s
Effectiveness
Kendo Enables your board’s various governance processes to become more efficient, transparent and easier.
Does your board make an impact?
Good governance is essential for the success of any organisation, but traditionally board’s are not as productive as they could be. Here are three common problems they face:
Lack of alignment between directors and executives
There needs to be strategic alignment both at the board level and between the board and the executive.
Effective board oversight and guidance is needed in preparing the business plan.
Furthermore, regular reviews of progress towards business objectives and an explanation of variances is required.
The people are not the right people
The composition of the board needs to have the skills and experience required to provide oversight of the Company’s industry and opportunities. Directors need both discipline based skills and soft skills.
A key responsibility of the board is to ensure there is a strong CEO in place and an executive team capable of delivering the business plan..
Values, behaviours and culture need to come from the board down.
Not focusing on the issues that matter
Directors generally have extensive experience and capabilities. They need to use this to drive the critical issues that matter. For example a large growth opportunity, dealing with a critical risk or solvency issues. Improve productivity by focussing on the issues that are going to have an impact and less on procedural BAU matters.
